Artists are invited to enter their original artwork in a juried competition at City Lights Art Gallery, 3 E Army Street, Henderson NV 89015 during the month of March 2019.
Cash and prizes of $1,300.00 will be awarded. Accepted entries will on exhibit at City Lights Art Gallery from March 5th– 29th. All entries must be submitted at the Gallery on Friday or Saturday, March 1stand 2nd March between noon and 4pm.
Prizes will be awarded in 6 categories: Watercolor, Oil, Acrylics, Pastel/Drawing, Photography and Other Media (to include collage, encaustic, 3-dimensional works, etc.). A Best of Show will also be awarded. Two judges will jury the show, one for Photography and one for all other categories.
A Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 10th from 2pm to 5pm at City Lights Art Gallery.
All entries must be original and done by the submitting artist. City Lights Art Gallery requires a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) for each piece of artwork submitted. City Lights’ CoA is attached for your convenience or you may use your own. All artwork must be wired and ready for hanging (no saw tooth hangers are allowed). Instructions to assist you in preparing your artwork for hanging are attached. Gallery wrapped canvas works with painted edges are acceptable. A size limit of 1,100 square inches for each framed work will be strictly enforced (measured from outside edges of the frame).
A fillable PDF entry form is included. Non-member entrants must sign a Hold Harmless Agreement (attached) when art is delivered to City Lights. A City Lights member Artist Record Sheet is also attached. In order to expedite the check-in process, we suggest that all forms be completed and attached to your artwork along with the CoAs when you come in.
Please note that due to gallery space limitations the possibility exists that not all art submitted will be accepted. Artists will be advised by March 3rd if any of their entries have not been accepted.
